Our Story

As a professional athlete who has had a lot of injuries (6 surgeries and counting), Nathan Hislop knows being in pain is not fun. After seeing most of the people he knew in corporate roles suffer through their own pain everyday simply because they didn't know what was causing it or how to fix it, drove him to find a solution.

Combining the knowledge of his own injury solutions, a qualification in personal training and the passion to help people feel better, Mobility Room was born in 2018.

Originally from Hawkes Bay, New Zealand, Nathan spent 20 years travelling the world as a professional sailor. He has always been passionate about fitness, as well as it being a necessity for his job, so decided he wanted to share his knowledge with others and create Mobility Room.

Physiotherapist

As a decorated combat athlete, I have a particular passion for sports physiotherapy, having worked as Head of Sports Science and medicine at both League 1 and 2 clubs in the English football league where I used the latest methods of rehabilitating players not just back to previous levels but beyond. Through my physiotherapy career I have treated a wide variety of upper and lower extremity injuries with a proven track record of effective injury rehabilitation.

Personal Trainer & Relief Manager

When I began my fitness journey in 2010 I didn’t exactly know what I was doing. This lead me to suffer from herniated disc and a constant pain. I began making changes to my workout approach and it taught me a lot about rehab and posture correction. I made a full recovery through appropriate mobility work alongside strength training and luckily avoided an invasive surgery on my spine. I’ve understood that appropriate strength training can help us not only to get stronger but also to improve our life quality. After all that experience, I’ve decided to become a personal trainer to help other people with their health and fitness goals.
